The H2O Effect on Cu Speciation in Cu-CHA-Catalysts for NH3-SCR Probed by NH3 Titration

چکیده

The present work is focused on the effect of water NH3 adsorption over Cu-CHA SCR catalysts. For this purpose, samples characterized by different SAR (SiO2/Al2O3) ratios and Cu loadings were studied under both dry wet conditions. H2O adversely affects Lewis acid sites (Cu ions) all tested catalysts, as indicated decreased desorption at low temperature during TPD. Interestingly, NH3/Cu ratio, herein regarded an index for speciation cations, fell in range 3–4 (in presence gaseous NH3) or 1–2 (no conditions, line with formation NH3-solvated species (e.g., [CuII(NH3)4]2+ [CuII(OH)(NH3)3]+ NH3, [Z2CuII(NH3)2]2+ [ZCuII(OH)(NH3)]+ without NH3). When was fed to system, contrary, ratio always close 3 (or 1), while Brønsted acidity slightly increased. These results are consistent competition between hydrolysis a fraction Z2CuII into ZCuIIOH.

Optimizing the crystallinity and acidity of H-SAPO-34 by fluoride for synthesizing Cu/SAPO-34 NH3-SCR catalyst.

A series of H-SAPO-34 zeolites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method in fluoride media. The as-synthesized H-SAPO-34 zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 physisorption, temperature-programmed desorption of NH3 (NH3-TPD) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. The results showed that a certain concentration of F(-) anions p...

On the Character of Active Sites in Copper Exchanged Zeolites during NH3-SCR

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are formed during combustion in diesel engines and one current approach to reduce NOx to N2 is selective catalytic reduction with NH3 as reducing agent (NH3-SCR). To acquire both high activity and selectivity, the active site is often atomically dispersed metal atom, so-called single-site catalysts. In the case of NH3-SCR, one example is Cu-exchanged chabazite (Cu-CHA). Th...

Radio-Frequency-Controlled Urea Dosing for NH3-SCR Catalysts: NH3 Storage Influence to Catalyst Performance under Transient Conditions

Current developments in exhaust gas aftertreatment led to a huge mistrust in diesel driven passenger cars due to their NOx emissions being too high. The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with ammonia (NH₃) as reducing agent is the only approach today with the capability to meet upcoming emission limits. Therefore, the radio-frequency-based (RF) catalyst state determination to monitor the NH₃ ...

In Situ Spectroscopic Studies of Proton Transport in Zeolite Catalysts for NH3-SCR

Proton transport is an elementary process in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides by ammonia (DeNOx by NH3-SCR) using metal-exchanged zeolites as catalysts. This review summarizes recent advancements in the study of proton transport in zeolite catalysts using in situ electrical impedance spectroscopy (IS) under NH3-SCR reaction conditions. Different factors, such as the metal ca...

THE NEW “ENHANCED NH3-SCR” REACTION FOR NOx EMISSION CONTROL

NH3-Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is applied worldwide to DeNOx of combustion exhausts from stationary and mobile sources, but a greater DeNOx activity at low temperatures is desired to meet forthcoming restrictive legislations. We have obtained high NO reduction efficiencies at 200 – 300 °C over commercial V-based and Fe-exchanged zeolite catalysts by reacting NO with both ammonia and ni...
